The native of Mobile, Ala. wins his second SEC honor
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – For the second time this season, Alabama men's basketball guard Labaron Philon has been named SEC Freshman of the Week, the Southeastern Conference announced Monday.Â

- Posted a season-high 21 points along with six assists, five rebounds and two steals in Alabama's win over South Dakota State
- Reached double-figures for the ninth time this season while posting his first 20-point game of his career
- Has recorded five assists or more in four games this season
- Ranks No. 11 in the SEC in assists per game (3.9) and ranks eighth among Division I freshmen
- Leads UA in steals per game (1.3 spg)
- Ranks No. 12 in in the SEC in assist/turnover ratio (2.2)
- One of three freshmen in the conference to be named SEC Freshman of the Week twice this season joining Georgia's Asa Newell and Oklahoma's Jeremiah Fears
