Aaliyah Nye Named SEC Player of the Week

The graduate earns her first Southeastern Conference weekly honor
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama women's basketball guard Aaliyah Nye has been named the Southeastern Conference's Player of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.
The honor marks the first for Nye, following her 30-point performance in the Crimson Tide's dominate 93-46 victory over Jacksonville last weekend.

- Posted a career-high 30 points, propelling Alabama to its 13th victory of the season for the team's best start in program history (13-1)
- Shot 75 percent (9-of-12) from the field, 80 percent (8-of-10) from deep and 80 percent (4-of-5) from the free-throw line in the Tide's 47-point win
- Tied her own school record with most three-pointers made in a single game (8)
- Moved to fifth on the program's career three-point field goals list (240)
- Currently ranks No. 1 in the SEC and No. 3 in the country in three-point field goals made this season (52)
