Alabama Takes Down UAB, 8-0, in Five Innings Tuesday in Tuscaloosa

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Alabama softball needed just over an hour of game time to defeat UAB Tuesday afternoon at Rhoads Stadium, beating the Blazers 8-0 in five innings.
Alabama (14-0) and UAB (7-8) played a full five innings in an hour and 15 minutes, with Crimson Tide starter Jocelyn Briski (4-0) cruising through an efficient 4.0 innings in the start, striking out seven with 40 of the 47 pitches she threw going for strikes. Salen Hawkins was 2-for-3 including a three-run home run, her fourth long ball of the season. Lauren Johnson also had a pair of hits in the winning effort batting ninth, hitting a two-run double to drive in the first runs of the day for Alabama.

"We started at 4 p.m. and were done by 5:15 p.m., that makes today even more amazing. Briski was very efficient again. She threw good pitches today that were moving. Every pitch that Lance called, she threw what she was supposed to."
