The Crimson Tide hits two solo home runs, Jocelyn Briski gets the complete-game win
COLUMBIA, Mo. – A pair of solo home runs was enough offense for Alabama in Friday's series opener against Missouri, with Jocelyn Briski throwing a complete game in the in the 2-1 win.
Both of Alabama's (28-1, 6-1 SEC) runs over Missouri (14-17, 0-4 SEC) were solo home runs, coming off the bats of Brooke Wells and Marlie Giles. The Crimson Tide left six runners on base in the game but another stellar outing from Jocelyn Briski (11-0) kept the Tigers' scoring threat to a minimum, holding the home team off the board until a solo home run with two out in the bottom of the seventh. In total, the reigning SEC Pitcher of the Week allowed just three hits and one walk while fanning five to push her season total to 99 strikeouts.
