William Jennings and Brycen Jones both inside the top 10 to lead the Crimson Tide on day one

CARROLLTON, Texas – The No. 16 Alabama men's golf team finished the opening day of play at the Maridoe Collegiate on Monday and is in sixth overall through 36 holes with a team total of 25-over par 601 (289-309).

William Jennings (t5th) and Brycen Jones (t9th) lead the Crimson Tide as both will enter Tuesday's third and final round inside the top 10 individuals

Individual Highlights

William Jennings led the Crimson Tide across Monday's opening two rounds, finishing the day in a fifth-place tie after carding an even par 144 (74-70)
After collecting just one birdie across his opening 18 holes in the morning, Jennings responded five birdies compared to three bogeys to close the afternoon at 2-under 70
Brycen Jones is in a tie for ninth overall at 2-over par 146 (71-75), combining on the day for a team-leading nine birdies
Jones' nine birdies rank second-best among all individuals in the field, while Jennings' 25 pars are tied for fourth-most
Jonathan Griz at in a tie for 40^th overall at 11-over 155 (77-78)
Connor Brown (77-80) and Nick Gross (78-79) round out the Tide's starting lineup as they are tied for 50^th with each carding a 157 through 36 holes
Brown recorded the team's long eagle, coming in round one on the par 5, 568-yard 13^th hole, and was one of just three eagles over the 36 holes played
Jack Mitchell, who is competing as an individual, finished the day in a tie for 13^th overall at 3-over par 147 (74-73)
