The nine runs scored are the most by the Crimson Tide over the Tigers since 2015
AUBURN, Ala. – Alabama softball capped a series sweep over Auburn with a 9-1 run rule win Sunday at Jane B. Moore Field.
The nine runs scored by Alabama (39-3, 12-3 SEC) are its most against Auburn (23-19, 2-13 SEC) since a 13-3 win on April 18, 2015. The series sweep is the Crimson Tide's second this season, previously doing so March 6-8 at Ole Miss, and its first series sweep over Auburn since 2021. Four different players finished with two hits in the game and three hit home runs, including Brooke Wells' 18th of the season to tie her with Amanda Locke (2012) for sixth on Alabama's single season home run record list. Jocelyn Briski (16-1) earned her second complete-game win of the weekend, striking out nine while allowing just one run on three hits across 6.0 innings.
From Head Coach Patrick Murphy
"Jocelyn Briski keeps getting better and better. She adds stuff to her arsenal, she makes different pitches move different ways and she's just outstanding right now. Vic [Moten] was incredible yesterday as well so the pitching staff did their job 100 percent and the team defense was really good. The goal today facing the same pitcher we did Friday was to not make the same mistakes at the plate that we did earlier this weekend and we did a lot better today."
