Justin Lebron Named to Golden Spikes Award Midseason Watch List

The junior is one of 45 players named to the midseason list
CARY, N.C. – Alabama shortstop Justin Lebron was selected to the 2026 Golden Spikes Award Midseason Watch List, USA Baseball announced on Thursday.
Lebron is one of 45 amateur players on the midseason watch list for the Golden Spikes, an award given annually to the top player from college and high school baseball. The Golden Spikes Award Advisory Board will continue maintaining a rolling list of athletes throughout the season, allowing players to play themselves into consideration for the award before the announcement of the semifinalists on May 14. Following the 25-player semifinalist announcement, the three finalists for the 2026 Golden Spikes Awards will be revealed on June 10 before the winner is named on June 29.
Dave Magadan is Alabama's lone winner of the Golden Spikes Award, taking home the hardware following his record-setting 1983 season.

Justin Lebron
- Alabama's everyday shortstop and one of the nation's most dynamic players
- Started all 30 games for the Tide, batting .272 (31-114) with five doubles and a team-leading 11 home runs
- Also tallied 27 RBI and 33 runs scored to go with 19 walks during his junior campaign
- Managed 23 stolen bases in as many chances, one of only seven players in Division I with at least 23 steals
- One of only two players nationally with at least 23 steals that has yet to be caught on the basepaths
- Is the only player in the country with at least 11 home runs and 23 stolen bases
- His 11 home runs are tied for 22nd in Division I and seventh in the Southeastern Conference
