BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Alabama track and field's Caren Kiplagat was named the Women's Southeastern Conference Freshman of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday. It marked the second conference weekly honor of Kiplagat's career and the Crimson Tide's second during the 2026 outdoor season.
Kiplagat highlighted a triple-meet weekend for Alabama, winning the women's 10,000 meters at the Bryan Clay Invitational in record fashion.

- Her first-place time of 31:30.74 last weekend in Azusa, Calif., broke the Alabama school record by over 10 seconds
