Selected in the second round in 2022, Prielipp becomes 73rd Crimson Tide player to reach Major League level
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Connor Prielipp, a member of the Crimson Tide from 2020-22, was recalled by the Minnesota Twins on Wednesday, marking his first trip to the Major Leagues. His first game appearance will signify his MLB debut. The former Alabama southpaw becomes the first Crimson Tide player to reach the big leagues since Dylan Smith in 2025 and becomes the 73rd player in program history to reach baseball's highest level.
Prielipp appeared in 39 career minor league games prior to his first call-up, posting a 3.72 earned run average in 128.1 innings pitched. The Wisconsin native has produced an 11.8 strikeouts per nine innings mark since being drafted 48th overall by the Twins in 2022. In four minor league appearances this season with the Triple-A St. Paul Saints, Prielipp produced a 2.30 ERA in 15.2 innings pitched.
