Cynthia Jemutai Opens Torrin Lawrence Memorial with Women’s Mile Victory

A total of five Crimson Tide distance runners placed in the top five of the mile
ATHENS, Ga. – Cynthia Jemutai opened Alabama track and field's outdoor regular-season finale by winning the women's mile in a 4:43.51 time. In total, five Crimson Tide distance runners recorded top-five finishes, across the men's and women's races, at the Torrin Lawrence Memorial.
Lilly Walters (4:47.08) joined Jemutai in the women's race with a third-place collegiate finish, while Bismack Kipchirchir (4:00.23) led the UA men with a third-place run. Nelson Pariken (4:00.42) placed fourth and Hudson Hurst (4:00.76) finished fifth to round out the men's top-five performers.
The Crimson Tide will return to action Saturday for the final day of the Torrin Lawrence Memorial.
