Nike Signs 18 Alabama Athletes to Blue Ribbon Elite Roster
We were pleased to announce the addition of 18 Crimson Tide student-athletes to the Nike Blue Ribbon Elite NIL roster for the 2026-27 season. The 18 athletes who were selected represented men's and women's basketball, football, softball, baseball, volleyball, men's swimming, gymnastics and soccer.
This is a credit to our longstanding partnership with Nike, an industry leader, that shares our commitment to innovation and providing Alabama with best-in-class opportunities. The Blue Ribbon Elite program is another example of that commitment, creating a unique platform for our athletes to build and elevate their individual brands. We're very grateful to Nike for their continued investment in our athletes and look forward to building on an already strong partnership.
Football to Face First Road Test Following a Season-Opening Win vs. East Carolina
Congratulations to our football team, which captured a 48-10 win over East Carolina in the home opener. A big thank you to all the fans who not only showed up and braved the heat but also were loud and engaged in the game, helping to create a great home environment! Next up, head coach Kalen DeBoer will lead our team into Lexington for the first SEC game of the season when we take on Kentucky Saturday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. CT.
Following the SEC opener, we are back at Saban Field at Bryant-Denny Stadium for an afternoon tilt with the Florida State Seminoles on Saturday, Sept. 19. Tickets are sold out through the Alabama Ticket Office but can be purchased through our partners at SeatGeek.Â

Soccer Opens SEC Play at Auburn
Our 11th-ranked soccer team, which finished the non-conference portion of its schedule with wins in seven of its eight games (7-1), now looks ahead to SEC action when the Crimson Tide travels to take on Auburn Friday night at 6:30 p.m. CT. The match serves as the league opener for both squads. From there, we return to our home pitch to host Arkansas on Friday, Sept. 18 at 7 p.m. CT. Good luck, ladies!
Volleyball Hosts Three Home Matches Next Week
Head coach Rashinda Reed and our volleyball team has had a great start, winning four of its first five matches to begin the 2026 campaign. Most recently, we downed Virginia 3-1 in the ACC/SEC Showdown at the Net in Charlottesville, Va. Our ladies are off from competition this weekend before returning to Foster Auditorium to begin a three-match homestand that will close out the non-conference portion of its schedule. The Crimson Tide opens the stretch when it takes on Alcorn State on Wednesday, Sept. 16 at 6 p.m. CT before hosting Jacksonville State (Thursday, Sept. 17 at 6 p.m.) and Southern (Saturday, Sept. 19 at 11 a.m.) in the Crimson Classic.Â
Cross Country has Strong Showing in Season Opener
Our men's and women's cross country teams got off to good starts with each producing third-place finishes at the Twilight Classic in Memphis, Tenn., last weekend. The women, competing in the 5K, were the first to the starting line as freshman Eliana Black (17:53.07 | ninth) paced the squad in her first collegiate meet. Following with the four-mile run, Jackson Hogsed (19:30.65 | eighth) was the quickest to the finish line for the men, while Ethan Locke (19:31.44 | ninth) in his collegiate debut followed close behind to secure a pair of top-10 results. The teams will next compete on Friday, Sept. 18, at the Southern Showcase in Jacksonville, Ala.
Fall Sports in Full Swing in Tuscaloosa
In addition to football, cross country, soccer and volleyball, we have several other sports returning to action over the next couple of weeks, including men's and women's tennis and men's and women's golf.
Our men's golf team just closed out its opening tournament of the fall with a fifth-place finish at the Folds of Honor Collegiate. Meanwhile, first year head coach Lydia Lasprilla and our women's golf team will be in action when they open the season at the Lady Paladin Invitational on Sept. 18-20 in Greenville, S.C.
Both of our tennis programs also return to competition this weekend with the women beginning Friday at the Debbie Southern Fall Classic in Greenville, S.C. Meanwhile, our men's team will travel to Starkville, Miss., for the SEC StarkVegas Showdown on Sept. 18-20.Â
