Jennings Among Top 5 to Lead Alabama Through 36 Holes Played at the OFCC/Fighting Illini Invitational

William Jennings under par heading into the tournament’s final round as the Crimson Tide finish in sixth position
CHICAGO – The No. 18 Alabama men's golf team carded 18-under par 542 to stand alone in sixth place after two rounds at the Olympia Fields/Fighting Illini Invitational on Friday.
In his first tournament of the season, William Jennings ended day one tied for fourth place after recording back-to-back below par rounds through 36 holes (66-66), while Miles Eubanks is tied for 13th (67-68/135).
Individual Highlights
- William Jennings paced the Crimson Tide with an 8-under par 132 (66-66) after the first two rounds of the tournament
- Miles Eubanks ended day one at 5-under par 135 (67-68) after carding under par first and second rounds
- Jennings and Eubanks currently sit tied for third most birdies recorded with 10 apiece, while Alabama is tied for fourth overall in the category (38)
- Bailey Sutter (67-69/136) and Nick Gross (68-71/139) both finished under par through 36 holes and are tied for 22nd and 51st position, respectively
- Jack Mitchell (t77th) rounded out the UA golfers with a 146 (72-74)
Team Highlights
- No. 12 Illinois (-26) holds the clubhouse lead by one shot over No. 5 Texas Tech (-25) through the first two rounds
- Alabama holds a three-stroke lead over seventh place Pepperdine and will enter the final round at 18-under par 542 (268-274)
