Alex Stewart will enter her first season with the Alabama women's basketball team during the 2026-27 campaign after being named director of operations by head coach Pauline Love on May 1.
"Alex brings a wealth of experience, toughness and credibility to our program,” said Love. "She has coached at a high level, helped build winning teams and understands what it takes to develop young women on and off the court. Her background as an elite player, proven coach and relationship-builder makes her a tremendous addition to our staff."
Prior to Alabama
- Spent four seasons at Auburn, starting as director of basketball operations before being elevated to an assistant coach and chief of staff (2021-25)
- Aided in the Tigers' return to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2019 and helped lead the team to a 20-win season in 2023-24
- Holds 17 years of coaching experience, 12 of those in the Division I ranks, following stints at Colgate (2020-21), Georgia Southern (2015-19), Toledo (2012-15) and Jacksonville (2011-12)
- Served brief tenures at North Greenville (2019-20) and Agnes Scott (2006-08)
- Returned to her alma mater, Georgia Tech, serving as director of operations and as an academic coach (2008-11)
