One of the most talented football and baseball players in the state of Alabama ... brings a wealth of experience to the Crimson Tide ... a solid middle infielder who could compete for the starting job at shortstop ... has excellent range and quick hands ... showed power at the plate in the fall ... is an excellent contact hitter ... made a name for himself on and off the field at Hoover High School where he was the starting quarterback for one of state’s top high school programs ... led the football team to its fourth consecutive state title during his junior season in 2005 when he threw for 2,360 yards and 31 touchdowns ... was named a Playstation High School All-American in baseball in 2007 ... was selected in the 35th round of the 2007 Major League Baseball Draft by the San Diego Padres.

Full name is Ross Ingram Wilson ... son of Parker and Susan Wilson ... has three siblings, John Parker, Marlo and Peyton ... starred in 2005 and 2006 on the popular reality-based MTV mini-series, “Two-A-Days” ... his father, Parker, played professional baseball in the Boston Red Sox organization ... his mother, Susan, was a cheerleader at Alabama and was on the cheerleading squad during the Tide’s 12-0 season in 1979 ... his brother, John Parker, is currently the Tide’s starting quarterback and has set single-season records for pass attempts, completions, passing yards, touchdowns, most plays and total offense each of the last two seasons ... Ross and John Parker both won state championships at Hoover High School ... his uncle, Thomas Wilson, played collegiate baseball at Livingston and in the professional ranks for the Cincinnati Reds organization ... Thomas Wilson later served as a scout for the Reds and helped build Cincinnati’s 1990 World Series championship team.
