Alabama Women's Tennis Signs a Pair During Early Period

Jones, a blue chip recruit from Greenville, S.C., is currently ranked 16th in the nation and fourth in the Southeast according to TennisRecruiting.net. She helped lead Travelers Rest High School to the 2013 team state championship while also winning the state singles title in 2013 and 2014. Jones comes from a family entrenched in tennis as both her parents played in college and professionally, as did two of her aunts. Her father, Kelly Jones, is currently the head coach of the men's tennis team at Furman.
Pothoff, from Tucson, Ariz., is another blue chip recruit out of the 2016 class and is ranked 20th overall and seventh in the Southwest. She has won one national gold ball, four national silver balls and three national bronze balls, all in doubles and captured the Eddie Herr 16s Doubles Championship in 2013. Pothoff was named the 2012 Southwest Junior Female Player of the Year and was ranked No. 1 in the Southwest section for 12s-18s.
