IOWA CITY, Iowa - Alabama sprint ace Kristian Gkolomeev blazed to the second NCAA championship of his career Saturday night, winning his first 100 freestyle title with a school-record 41.56 in Iowa City, Iowa, home of the 2015 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships.
Gkolomeev, who won the NCAA 50 freestyle as a freshman in 2014, was dominating on the way to the 100 freestyle title, bettering his closest competitor by more than two-tenths of a second. Gkolomeev was second in the 50 freestyle earlier this week and anchored Alabama's NCAA runner-up 200 medley relay.
