Roan Jones and Carlos Gimenez Perez captured singles wins on the final day of competition
WACO, Texas – The Alabama men's tennis team concluded action at the Big 12/SEC Challenge Sunday with Roan Jones and Carlos Gimenez Perez capturing singles wins.
Alabama went head-to-head with athletes from Baylor in doubles play, while competing against members from Arizona State in singles during the final day of events.

"Three challenging days of competition as our ability and willingness to compete was tested daily. We made progress in both singles and doubles which is what the goal is each week in the fall. We have now competed enough to know how to structure and implement a good training block plan for the next 10 days as we prepare for the Southern Regional Championships."
Match Notes
- After sweeping the opening set 6-0, Jones cruised to a second-set win at 6-2 to take the match against Roi Ginat
- Gimenez Perez secured his second singles win of the tournament in a come-from-behind victory over Mikel Anderson
- Gimenez Perez would drop the first set, 4-6, before taking the second set at 6-4
- He went on to take the final round at 6-3 to secure the win
- Overall, Jones, Gimenez Perez and Damien Nezar each captured two singles wins in the tournament
