2024 SEC Indoor Track and Field Championships Around the Corner for No. 9/12 Alabama

The Crimson Tide will make the trip to Fayetteville, Ark., to compete in the 2024 SEC Indoor Track and Field Championships over the weekend
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama men's and women's track and field teams will take part in the 2024 SEC Indoor Championships over the weekend, in Fayetteville, Ark., inside the Tyson Indoor Track Center. The Crimson Tide will be represented by a delegation of 49 student-athletes competing in 22 different events over the two-day meet.
The Crimson Tide opens the two-day Championship in the women's pole vault with Victoria Faber jumpstarting the action at 1:30 p.m. CT Friday afternoon.
The UA men enter the postseason ranked No. 9 while the Crimson Tide women roll in as the 12th-ranked squad in the country.
THE 2024 SEC INDOOR TRACK AND FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS

- Time: First field event will begin at 1:30 p.m. CT in the women's pole vault, with the first track event starting at 4 p.m. with the prelims in the women's mile

- In Boston, Mass., distance runner Doris Lemngole clocked the second-fastest 5,000-meter run of all time in NCAA history
- The Crimson Tide posted six first-place finishes in Clemson, S.C. – Chandler Hayden (women's weight throw), Ruben Banks (men's weight throw), Jami Reed (women's mile), Arthur Graham (men's mile), Ethan Lemons (men's 3,000-meter), Hasani Barr, Chris Robinson, Tarsis Orogot and Khaleb McRae (men's 4x400-meter)
- Banks claimed sole possession of the NCAA lead in the men's weight throw after launching a 23.88-meter (78-4.25) mark
- Hayden and Banks swept the weight throw event for the fourth consecutive week
- Barr, Robinson, Orogot and McRae's time of 3:03.28 became the third-fastest time in program history
