Kaleigh Palmer was the only Tide player to reach double digit kills
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama volleyball team (9-10, 1-9 SEC) dropped a home game to Oklahoma (11-7, 4-5 SEC) on Sunday at Foster Auditorium. The match ended in three sets as the Sooners came out on top.
The Crimson Tide fell by a score of 18-25 in sets one and two before things started to come together in the third set. UA was much more competitive in the final set, but the Sooners still took a 25-22 win.
Kaleigh Palmer led Alabama with 10 kills and two blocks in the three-set defeat. She finished with a .381 hitting percentage which was her third best hitting percentage this season. Mya Allen also hit the ball efficiently, putting together a .444 hitting percentage with five kills.
In limited playing time, Audrey Simpson came off the bench and made her impact felt, recording four kills and two blocks. Hannah Parant had team-highs of 21 assists, seven digs, two blocks and two aces.
From Head Coach Rashinda Reed
'It's unfortunate, but that team was really good and they executed well. We could have been better on the ball when it comes to serve receive. Although our serve receive started getting better towards the end, it just was not enough. Our dig quality could have been better, and overall they just executed their game much better than us today. We just have to get back to it."
