Chambers Highlights Alabama on Opening Day of SEC Championships

The UA sophomore earned a spot in the B finals in the opening event at the conference meet
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Nigel Chambers paced the Alabama swimming and diving team on the opening day of the Southeastern Conference Championships.
In the only event on Monday, Chambers fought his way into the consolation finals on the 1m board via a 314.55 score for 14th place in the preliminary round.
He would follow with a 264.45 performance in the B finals to finish 16th overall.
In addition to Chambers, Colten Cryer scored points for the Tide as he finished in 21st place with 281.65 points.

- Alabama returns to action tomorrow to compete in the mile and women's 1m springboard at 10:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. CT, respectively
- Both the 200 medley relay and the 800 freestyle relay will be featured as part of the finals, as events get underway at 4 p.m.
