Alabama's Comeback Falls Short to No. 16 Vanderbilt, 4-3

The Crimson Tide picked up one doubles win and three singles victory in the losing effort
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The Alabama women's tennis team (11-4, 3-4 SEC) captured three consecutive singles wins, but would fall short to No. 16 Vanderbilt (15-4, 5-2 SEC).
After trailing 3-0 in the match, Karla Bartel, Klara Milicevic and Amina Salibayeva secured victories on courts three, two and five, respectively. Addison Bowman forced a third set following a second set tiebreak; however, the Commodores would clinch the match on court four.
Match Notes
- Klara Milicevic and Mary Sidelynk picked up their first win as a doubles duo to give Alabama its only doubles victory
- Vanderbilt would jump to a 3-0 lead during singles play before three-straight wins from Karla Bartel, Milicevic and Amina Salibayeva brought the match to a tie
- Bartel notched the Tide's first win with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Trinetra Vijayakumar on court three
- At the No. 2 spot, Milicevic earned a straight-set 6-4, 6-4 victory over No. 21 Valeria Ray
- Salibayeva would tally Alabama's final point on court five following a two-set win over Erin Pearce which included a 15-13 tiebreak
- Addison Bowman forced a third set against Mia Yamakita before ultimately falling, 5-7, 7-6(0), 3-6 on court four
