Bringing Back the Love: Welcome our New Women's Basketball Head Coach Pauline Love
I couldn't be more excited to welcome Pauline Love back to Tuscaloosa as our 10th head women's basketball coach in program history. She is no stranger to T-Town, nor the Southeastern Conference, spending the 2024-25 season with our program as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator. She also served in the same role at Arkansas (2017-24) and was Oklahoma's associate head coach last season.
We spoke with many people throughout the hiring process, and she quickly rose to the top of our list. Pauline's vision for this program and preparation to lead Alabama women's basketball is incredibly impressive, and we look forward to seeing the Tide continue to rise under her leadership.Â
Please join me in making Coach Love feel the love! A great way to do that is to join Yea Alabama with memberships starting at just $5 per month. Additionally, fans are now able to fill out the 2026-27 Ticket Interest Form for season tickets.
Softball Hosts No. 1
A top five matchup awaits this weekend at Rhoads Stadium, as fourth-ranked Alabama welcomes the defending national champion and No. 1-ranked Texas for a three game series beginning Thursday, April 2 at 6 p.m. CT. It should be an exciting weekend as Patrick Murphy has guided #Team30 it an impressive 33-2 mark overall and 7-2 record in SEC play. With first place in the conference on the line, we hope you come out and support this team that has already shown it is performing at a championship level!
Thank You Tuscaloosa Fire and Crimson Reserve Staff
For those that are not aware, we had a rash of brush fires that broke out around the city of Tuscaloosa and those fires threatened The Crimson Reserve -Â our state of the art facility that houses both of our men's and women's golf teams. It was a scary and very real situation but a huge thank you to the fast-acting reaction by our Crimson Reserve superintendent, Matt Devine, and his staff, who worked feverishly to keep the fires on the other side of the fence prior to the arrival of the Tuscaloosa Fire Department. Once TFD arrived on scene, they acted swiftly and successfully contained multiple areas before the fires could spread further. We are especially grateful for their swift response near The Crimson Reserve, where their coordination with onsite personnel ensured the fire was contained.
Gymnastics Gears Up For NCAA Regional
Good luck to Head Coach Ashley Johnston and our gymnastics team as they get ready to compete at the NCAA Regionals, which begin Friday, April 3. Our ladies departed Wednesday for Corvallis, Ore., where they will compete in the first of two sessions, which begins at 3 p.m. CT and consists of Denver, Oregon State and Utah. The top two teams from each session will move on to the Regional Final on Sunday at 7 p.m. CT. The top two teams from Sunday's Regional Final will then move on to the NCAA Championship Semifinals at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas. Good luck, ladies!
Golden Flake A-Day Just Over a Week Away
We announced updated details surrounding Golden Flake A-Day, which will take place on Saturday, April 11 at 1 p.m. CT inside Saban Field at Bryant-Denny Stadium, so I wanted to send a reminder to mark your calendars. For those who are in attendance, please understand that some modifications will have to be made relative to upgraded experiences, activations outside the stadium, concessions and premium seating due to preparations for the concert on Saturday, April 18.

Gates to Saban Field at Bryant-Denny Stadium will open at 12 p.m. Attendees should utilize Gates 14-17, 21-24, 34 and 47-53 to enter. The University's clear bag policy, along with the use of metal detectors, will be in effect at the gates. Baseball Continues Winning Ways
What a run it's been for Coach Rob Vaughn and our baseball team, coming off a sweep of then-No. 5 Auburn last weekend. Because of that, our boys vaulted up to as high as No. 10 in the nation in the weekly polls. Most recently, we captured a 4-3 win at Jacksonville State and now enter this weekend's series at No. 11 Oklahoma having won eight straight, which includes six consecutive SEC wins. That's the most consecutive wins in league play since 2002! Keep it up, guys, and good luck in Norman!
Rowing to Compete at Rocky Top Invite
Our rowing season is in full swing and continues this weekend as it heads to Oak Ridge, Tenn., to compete at the Rocky Top Invite on April 3-4 at Melton Hill Lake. First year head coach Kumari Lewis most recently guided the Alabama rowing program to seven victories at the Ohio State Regatta at the Griggs Reservoir in Columbus, Ohio on March 28. She and our ladies will look to keep that momentum going in what should be a very competitive regatta.
Track and Field Competes in Baton Rouge
Our men's and women's track teams will travel to Baton Rouge, La., to compete at the Battle on the Bayou, which takes place on April 3-4. Following that, our teams will host the lone home event of the outdoor season, the Crimson Tide Invitational, which will be held at the Sam Bailey Track and Field Stadium on Friday, April 10. We hope that you come out and enjoy all the action next weekend!
Tennis Teams Continue Conference Play
Both our men's and women's tennis teams continue play this weekend in the SEC. Our men's team will return to Tuscaloosa where they host Texas A&M on Saturday at 1 p.m. CT. The women will have a pair of road matches as they first travel to take on LSU today at 5 p.m. CT before heading to Oxford, Miss., to square off against Ole Miss on Saturday at 2 p.m. CT.
Bama Blitz Begins April 7th at Noon
Bama Blitz, the ninth-annual University-wide giving event begins on Tuesday, April 7th at noon. Athletics will be raising support for the Crimson Tide Scholarship Fund (CTSF). The CTSF is the annual scholarship fund for Alabama Athletics, which provides critical scholarship support for our student-athletes. Your gift of any amount will put us one step closer toward our goal of funding a full annual scholarship during the two-day online giving event. For more information, visit bamablitz.ua.edu.
University Spotlight
Here is a pretty cool story I stumbled upon that features our adaptive athletics programs at The University of Alabama. For those who don't know, Drs. Brent Hardin and Margaret Stran have led The University of Alabama Adapted Athletics program for over two decades!
#RollTideFriday
Our #RollTideFriday photo this week was sent to me from Stephen Hill, who was representing the Script A at an FC Prishtina match in Pristina, Kosovo. For those who don't know – and I was one of those – FC Prishtina is a professional soccer team that competes in the Kosovo Superleague. They have won 11 league titles and regularly compete in the UEFA Champions League. Definitely appropriate attire for Stephen to wear considering the history of success their club has had over the year.Â

Remember if you want to submit a photo, use the hashtag #RollTideFriday in your social posts and tweet your photos to me at @Greg_Byrne. Keep those photos coming!Â
