
Alabama Places Eight on CSC Academic All-District Team

Nigel Chambers, Tommy Hagar, Emily Jones, Tim Korstanje, Charlotte Rosendale, Gaby Van Brunt, Cadence Vincent and Zarek Wilson all earned the honor for the Tide
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Eight members of the Alabama swimming and diving team earned College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honors, the organization announced Tuesday.
Tim Korstanje captured the honor for the third consecutive year, while Emily Jones, Tommy Hagar, Cadence Vincent and Zarek Wilson were named district honorees for the second time. Additionally, Nigel Chambers, Charlotte Rosendale and Gaby Van Brunt picked up their first career accolade.
About the Honorees
- Emily Jones, Gaby Van Brunt and Zarek Wilson paced the group with 4.0 GPAs
- Jones was named the Southeastern Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year as she became the first female in program history to secure the academic and athletic honor
- Cadence Vincent concluded the season as a six-time All-American
- Additionally, Jones earned five All-America honors as Charlotte Rosendale earned three, Tommy Hagar earned two and Gaby Van Brunt and Tim Korstanje both secured one All-America honor
- Hagar also set the UA school record (1:37.92) in the 200 backstroke during the season by over a second and a half
- All four female swimmers as well as Hagar earned podium finishes at the SEC Championships
- Zarek Wilson competed as a member of the Tide's NCAA relay contingent
- Nigel Chambers paced the UA divers as he scored points in all three events at the SEC Championships
