William Jennings named one of 10 finalists for the nation’s top collegiate male golfer
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama men's golfer William Jennings has been named one of 10 finalists from around the country for the Fred Haskins Award, which honors the nation's top collegiate golfer.
First presented in 1971, the Fred Haskins Award honors the best male college golfer in the United States each year. The winner is chosen by votes from college golfers, coaches, and members of the golf media. Past winners, including Alabama's Justin Thomas in 2012, have gone on to win 33 major championships and more than 400 professional tournaments around the world.

- Has had an outstanding season and is ranked No. 8 in that nation among all Division I men's golfers according to the latest Scoreboard/Clippd national rankings
- Became the fourth Alabama's men's golfer in program history, and first since 2013, to win an NCAA Regional championship as he carded a 15-under par 201 to claim individual honors at the Marana Regional
- Earned three first-place finishes this season which is tied for the second-most individual wins in a year in program history (Fall of Honors Collegiate, Ben Hogan Collegiate, NCAA Marana Regional)
- Boasts seven top five finishes across Alabama's 11 tournaments played on the year, highlighted by three first place finishes and two runner-up results
- Captured medalist honors at the season-opening Folds of Honor Collegiate to help lead the Tide to the team championship, finishing the event at six-under par 207
- Tied for first overall at the Ben Hogan Collegiate Invitational, finishing 1-under par (209) before narrowly missing medalist honors in a playoff
- Named to United States Palmer Cup Team which will take place in early-July
- Named Ben Hogan Award September Golfer of the Month
- Earned the SEC Golfer of the Week following his performance at the Ben Hogan Collegiate
- Also collected runner up finishes at the Fallen Oak Collegiate (-12, 204) and the Linger Longer Invitational (-13, 203)
- Placed third overall among all individuals at the 2026 SEC Championships
Leads Alabama in total stroke average (69.76), average vs. par (-1.42), total rounds in the 60s (16) and total rounds of par or better
