The former 11th-round selection becomes the 74th major leaguer in Alabama program history
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Jim Jarvis, a member of the Crimson Tide from 2020-23, was recalled by the Atlanta Braves on Wednesday, marking his first stint on a Major League roster, as his first game appearance will signify his MLB debut. The former Alabama shortstop becomes the second former Crimson Tide player to reach the big leagues this season (Connor Prielipp) and becomes the 74th player in program history to attain Major League status.
Jarvis appeared in 279 career minor league games prior to his first call-up, posting a .252 average (256-1,015) with 55 doubles, six triples, 12 home runs and 124 RBI. The California native received the big-league promotion after a career-best start at the plate with the Triple-A Gwinnett Stripers, contributing a .305/.418/.445 slash in 33 games so far this season.

- Selected in the 11th round (320th overall) of the 2023 MLB Draft by the Detroit Tigers

- Totaled 490 assists for his career to rank eighth in Alabama's all-time list
- His 17 career sacrifice bunts also place him 10th all-time in the Crimson Tide record book
