Philon Jr. selected 22nd overall to the Philadelphia 76ers
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama men's basketball sophomore Labaron Philon Jr. was selected by the Philadelphia 76ers with the 22nd pick in the first round of the 2026 NBA Draft, which was held Tuesday night at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. Philon became the 20th player in program history to be selected in the first round of the NBA Draft and the seventh player under head coach Nate Oats to be selected in the draft.
Under Oats, the Crimson Tide has had five players selected in the first round of the NBA Draft joining Brandon Miller (No. 2, Charlotte Hornets), Noah Clowney (No. 21, Brooklyn Nets), Joshua Primo (No. 12, San Antonio Spurs) and Kira Lewis Jr. (No. 13, New Orleans Pelicans).

- A 2026 Third Team All-American selection
- Scored 725 points, which ranked third-most by a player in a single season in program history
- Set the program record for most points scored by a player during their sophomore season
- In two seasons, Philon recorded 1,117 career points, which ranked No. 47 on Alabama's all-time scoring list
- Became the fourth player (fifth selection) under head coach Nate Oats to receive All-American honors
- The only Division I player to average 22.0 points and 5.0 assists per game while shooting 50.1 percent from the field
- Ranked No. 11 in the country in points per game and third in the SEC
