Welcome New Women's Golf Head Coach Lydia Lasprilla
Welcome to Lydia Lasprilla who was officially introduced as the head coach of our women's golf program. Coach Lasprilla comes to the Capstone from Houston, where she spent the last eight years on the coaching staff including the last five as the team's head coach.
We are excited to welcome Lydia, who I feel is a rising star in the sport. She did an exceptional job during her time at Houston and most importantly her vision aligned with our commitment to comprehensive excellence. We look forward to her leading Alabama golf to championship levels.
Baseball is Feeling SUPER!
Congratulations to Rob Vaughn and our baseball team for punching their ticket to the Super Regional round of the 2026 NCAA Baseball Tournament when our boys topped Oklahoma State 9-7 in last Sunday night's regional final at Sewell-Thomas Stadium. With the victory, we advanced to the program's first Super Regional since 2023 and will host the second weekend for the first time since 2006 when we welcome the St. John's Red Storm for a best-of-three series beginning Saturday, June 6, at 8 p.m. CT.
Only general admission standing room tickets remain for the 2026 NCAA Tuscaloosa Super Regional and are available through the Alabama Ticket Office.
We need The Joe rockin' this weekend as we look to get to Omaha for the sixth time in program history and the first time since 1999!

Jennings Finishes National Runner-Up, Earns First Team All-America Honors
What a week it was for William Jennings, who shined throughout the postseason to conclude an incredible 2025-26 campaign. After finishing in third at the SEC Championships, William won the NCAA Marana Regional to qualify for an individual spot at the 2026 NCAA Men's Golf Championships. It went down to the final hole and he finished national runner up, which matched the program record for highest finish at the NCAA Championships by any UA golfer. William closed the year with seven top three finishes in 12 tournaments played, including three wins and three runner-up results.
As a result, William was named a PING First Team All-American by the Golf Coaches Association of America. With the award, Jennings became the ninth Crimson Tide golfer in program history to earn the honor and the first since Robby Shelton in 2016. Later this summer, he will represent us on the U.S. Palmer Cup Team, which takes place in early July.
Softball Concludes Outstanding Season
Our softball team's 2026 season came to an end in the semifinal round of the Women's College World Series by scores of 5-4 and 2-0 against Texas Tech. #Team30 finished its campaign with a 56-9 record, its most wins since 2019 and its highest winning percentage (.862) since 2012. The team also finished with 102 home runs, a .567 slugging percentage and 26 shutouts, all of which are the second-highest season totals in program history. The pitching staff's .174 batting average against ranks third all-time and the 108 runs allowed are the fourth lowest. A tremendously successful season for our ladies. They should be proud of all their accomplishments!

#RollTideFriday
I saw a cool photo from Russ and Susan Moore, who are former cheerleaders and both class of 1989 graduates. They sent me a photo proudly representing their alma mater when they summited Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania - 19,341 feet! Way to go!
