Myles Upchurch Named D1Baseball.com Freshman All-American

The Maryland native received his third Freshman All-America honor
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama baseball's Myles Upchurch was the named a First Team Freshman All-American by D1Baseball.com, the outlet announced Wednesday.
Upchurch was one of 36 freshmen from around the country to earn Freshman All-American honors from D1Baseball.com, as the recognition stands as the third All-American honor he has received following a standout rookie season. Upchurch was also named a Freshman All-American by Baseball America on June 26 and by the National College Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) on June 8.

- Played a key role in Alabama clinching its first Men's College World Series berth since 1999
- Responsible for a 3.75 ERA (30 ER/72.0 IP) in 16 games, including 15 starts
- His 3.75 ERA was the lowest mark among the Tide's starting staff
- Closed his freshman season with an 8-3 record, adding 78 strikeouts with 41 walks
- One of only six Division I freshmen to make at least 15 starts this season
- Named to the SEC All-Freshman Team prior to the start of postseason play
