There's always a special buzz in the air and around Tuscaloosa when our students return to campus and our student-athletes report for fall practices. This week feels no different with the 2026-27 season kicking off this week. Looking forward to another successful year for Alabama Athletics!
Soccer Opens Alabama Athletics Season with 2-1 Road Victory at Saint Louis
Congratulations to head coach Wes Hart and our soccer team for starting off with a dramatic 2-1 win at Saint Louis Wednesday night. Ashley Roni scored the first goal of the season in the 38th minute and Larkin Thomason converted a penalty kick in the 88th minute to secure the victory.Â
Our ladies remain on the road to take on No. 21 Memphis on Saturday at 7 p.m. CT before returning to the Alabama Soccer Complex to host TCU Thursday, Aug. 20, at 7 p.m. CT. Admission is free to the contest, which will be the first home athletics contest of our 2026-27 sports season. We hope to see the stands filled in with crimson!
Volleyball to Host Crimson Tide Invitational Aug. 28-29
Head coach Rashinda Reed and our volleyball team will open its season by hosting the Crimson Tide Invitational on Aug. 28 and 29 inside Foster Auditorium. We will begin tournament action on Friday night against Samford at 6 p.m. CT before closing the weekend tournament on Saturday vs. UC Riverside at 5 p.m. CT. Fans can pick up both season and single-match tickets through the Alabama Ticket Office.
Football Welcomes East Carolina on Sept. 5
In just a few weeks, head coach Kalen DeBoer's third season will kick off inside Saban Field at Bryant-Denny Stadium as we host East Carolina on Sept. 5 at 11 a.m. CT. A limited number of tickets remain through the Alabama Ticket Office, or fans can visit SeatGeek for additional inventory.
Basketball Back in Boutwell for Exhibition Matchups
Our men's and women's basketball teams, both of which are coming off NCAA Tournament appearances, have announced their respective 2026-27 schedules and will once again play an exhibition doubleheader in Birmingham's Boutwell Auditorium on Oct. 15.
First year head coach Pauline Love and our women's team will take on UAH at noon CT, while head coach Nate Oats and the men will face Ole Miss at 7 p.m. CT. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased at www.ballininboutwell.com.
Tide Talk with Coach DeBoer Returns
Four Tide Talk with Coach DeBoer luncheons are scheduled for this season, beginning September 18, followed by September 25, October 9 and October 23. Each luncheon, which runs from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. CT at the Bryant Conference Center, will feature a catered buffet and appearances by your favorite Alabama Athletics head coaches, Alabama Football assistant coaches, support staff and student-athletes, and of course, head coach Kalen DeBoer. University Spotlight
Congratulations to The University of Alabama student-athletes who earned medals during the recent 2026 Toyota USA Track and Field Outdoor and Para National Championships held at the end of July in New York City. A total of three Crimson Tide student-athletes competed against the nation's best, bringing home a national championship, two silver medals, a bronze medal and multiple top-four finishes.
