Chris Fleming begins his first season with the Alabama basketball program as an assistant coach after being hired in May of 2025. Fleming's primary responsibilities include on-court coaching, player development and opponent scouting. Fleming comes to Tuscaloosa with over a decade worth of coaching in the NBA as an assistant coach. Prior to Alabama, Fleming served as an assistant coach with the Portland Trail Blazers during the 2024-25 season.

"Chris brings over a decades worth of coaching experience in the NBA and overseas with most notably the German National Team. He is known for being exceptional at player development and brings a modern approach to the game. Not only is Chris a great coach but is also a high character individual who will be a huge asset to our program. We are excited to welcome him and his family to Tuscaloosa."
Portland Trail Blazers - Assistant Coach (2024-25)
- Helped the Trail Blazers make a 15-win improvement to the previous year
- Known for player development, Fleming worked with Scoot Henderson and Anfernee Simons
Chicago Bulls - Assistant Coach (2019-24)
- Coached NBA All-Stars Demar DeRozan and Lauri Markkanen during his five seasons with the Bulls
- Made one appearance in the playoffs during his time in Chicago
- Worked under head coach Billy Donovan
- Posted a 5-0 record as the Bulls' interim coach during Coach Donovan's COVID-19 protocol

Playing Career
- Played collegiately at Richmond from 1989-93
- Appeared in two NCAA Tournament appearances in 1990 and 1991 and one NIT appearance in 1992
- Tied for the Richmond program-record for most three-pointers (8) made in a single game
- Shot 41.1 percent from three-point range throughout his career, which ranks fifth-best in Richmond's program history
- Played professionally from 1994-2000 with Quakenbrücker TSV
