CHICAGO - The Alabama men's basketball team made its final preparations and fine-tuned the game plan on Thursday for the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 matchup vs. Michigan Friday night. The No. 4 seed Crimson Tide and No. 1 seed Wolverines are slated to tipoff Friday night at 6:30 p.m. CT (7:30 p.m. ET) on TBS.
Alabama had its final full team practice on Thursday at the United Center, spending 90 minutes on the court and going over its game plan for the contest. The Crimson Tide reached the fourth consecutive Sweet 16 – a first in program history – thanks to a 90-70 victory over No. 13-seed Hofstra in the first round, followed by a 90-75 win over No. 5 Texas Tech in the Round of 32.
The Crimson Tide is looking to advance to the Elite Eight for the fourth time in program history and the third straight under head coach Nate Oats. To get there, Alabama will have to defeat a No. 1 seed for the third time in program history (2-7 all-time vs. No. 1 seeds in tournament history) and second time in the last three years (defeated North Carolina 89-87 in the 2024 NCAA Tournament Sweet 16).
