
Rogers Earns Athletic Nomination for Homecoming

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Alabama All-American softball player Brittany Rogers was chosen to represent the athletic department as the female nomination on the upcoming homecoming ballot. Rogers was selected by a vote from her female student-athlete peers.
Rogers will now aim to take the next step on the homecoming festivities. The Dacula, Ga. native will now look to secure enough votes to make the homecoming court. The select few will be recognized on the field during the Arkansas State football game on Nov. 1.
To get Rogers on to the homecoming court students are asked to go vote for one of the best players to ever don a Crimson Tide softball uniform. Voting will take place on Oct. 28 between the hours of 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Ferguson Student Union.
The 5-6 outfielder was recognized as an All-American for the third time in as many season in 2008, this time garnering first-team honors from Louisville Slugger/NFCA and Easton. She was also selected to the NFCA First-Team All-South Region team. Rogers set the single-season and career stolen base records at Alabama in 2008 with 60 on the season and 146 in her career. She now ranks third in SEC history in career stolen bases. Rogers hit .452 (98 for 217), which was the third-highest single-season average in school history.
