
Patrick Murphy Softball School Approaching

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Alabama head softball coach Patrick Murphy announced the date for the annual Patrick Murphy Softball School. The fall hitting and fielding camp is slated to begin on Saturday, Sept. 27 at the Alabama Softball Stadium. The first session will begin at 9:30 a.m. CST.
The camp will feature coach Murphy and the rest of the Crimson Tide coaching staff. Under the tutelage of Murphy and the staff, Alabama reached its 10th straight NCAA Tournament and made its fifth appearance in the Women's College World Series.
On top of the Crimson Tide staff the special guest instructor will be coach Rick Heller. Heller is the head baseball coach at the University of Northern Iowa. During his tenure at NIU the Panthers have broken 50 team or individual school records, including hits, runs batted in, doubles and extra base hits. This past season Heller helped guide Brandon Douglas to Louisville Slugger All-American accolades and earn the Missouri Valley Conference Player of Year award.
The hitting session will start t 9:30 a.m. and run until noon. The fielding session begins at 1:00 p.m. and will conclude at 3:30 p.m. The camp is designated for high school aged athletes, grades 9-12. The camp is limited to the first 50 athletes and will be on a first serve basis.
