TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama softball's first player from the state of North Carolina signed her national letter of intent this week as Kloyee Anderson is now set to join the Crimson Tide starting in the 2019 season.
"Kloyee is a very athletic utility player who will be our first student-athlete from North Carolina," UA head coach Patrick Murphy said. "She plays second base and outfield and was also an outstanding volleyball player in high school. She is a left-handed hitter with a lot of speed."
Anderson earned All-Conference and All-State honors in each of the previous three years at Enka High School, leading the team to back-to-back state titles in 2015-16 including an undefeated 28-0 her freshman season. She is a two-time conference player of the year honoree and was named the school's female athlete of the year for 2016-17. She is also an accomplished volleyball player, earning 1,000 career kills and digs and earning conference player of the year honors in 2017.
Her club softball team Georgia Impact placed seventh at last summer's PGF Championship after earning a fifth-place finish the previous year with Lady Lightning Gold. She also helped lead Lady Lightning to a third-place showing at the Triple Crown National Championship.
Anderson joins Kayla Davis, Montana Fouts and Skylar Wallace among the Tide's signees so far this week. The fall signing period lasts through Nov. 15, with signees set to join the team for the 2019 season.
