Women's Tennis Begins 2019 Fall Season with Rice Invitational in Houston

Play will begin on Friday at 9 a.m.
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama women's tennis team is set to begin its 2019-20 season with the Rice Invitational starting on Friday, Sept. 27 and going through Sunday, Sept. 29, on the campus of Rice University in Houston, Texas.
Tournament Info
- There are 78 players from 13 schools (Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Colorado, Houston, North Texas, Rice, Sam Houston State, Texas A&M Corpus Christi, Texas State, USF, UT-Arlington and UTSA) that are entered into the tournament.
- Play will begin each day at 9 a.m. CT. On Friday there will be two rounds of doubles followed by one singles round. On Saturday there will be one doubles round followed by one singles round. On Sunday there will be one singles round to close out the tournament.
- Six of seven players on the Crimson Tide's roster are playing in this weekend's Rice Invitational.
Player Info
- UA returns five of eight players from last year's team, while adding highly touted freshmen in Ares Teixido and Isabella Harvison.
- The Tide roster boasts four seniors in Alba Cortina Pou, Luca Fabian, Ann Selim and Jacqueline Pelletier.
- In addition, junior Moka Ito is returning for her second year with the team after transferring from Western Kentucky after her freshman season.

- There will be no live stats or results for the tournament, however, there is a live stream available for each court. The court assignments have yet to be announced.
