Women's Basketball Earns 15th NCAA Tournament Berth, Set to Face Rhode Island in First Round

The Crimson Tide enter the NCAA Tournament as the No. 6 seed in Regional 3 Fort Worth
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The Alabama women's basketball team earned a No. 6 seed in the 2026 NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament and will face No. 11-seeded Rhode Island in the Fort Worth 3 Region, beginning March 20. Times, dates and television information will be released at a later time.
The winner of the Tide's opening round game will advance and face the winner between host school and No. 3 seed Louisville and No. 14 seed Vermont.

NCAA Tournament Notes
- The berth marks the Crimson Tide's 15th NCAA Tournament appearance in program history and fourth consecutive trip to the Big Dance
- UA has made the tournament five times in the last six years, including a spot in the 2025 NCAA Tournament
- Head Coach Kristy Curry will make her 14th overall trip to the NCAA Tournament after capturing berths to the Big Dance at Purdue (2000-06) and Texas Tech (2011, 13) prior to UA's 2021 appearance
- Under Curry, Alabama earned its fifth tournament appearance
- The Crimson Tide is 19-14 all-time in the NCAA Tournament
- Alabama's deepest run came in 1994 with the team advancing to the Final Four
