
Rashinda Reed to be Inducted into Northwest Athletic Conference Hall of Fame

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama head volleyball coach Rashinda Reed will be inducted into the Northwest Athletic Conference Hall of Fame this week as part of its 2026 class at its Hall of Fame ceremony on Thursday, June 4 in Portland, Ore.
Reed began her collegiate volleyball career at NWAC member school Southwestern Oregon in 2000, where she was a standout middle hitter under head coach John Speasl. In her second season with the Lakers in 2001, she helped advance the team to the NWAC playoffs, earning NWAC All-Star recognition in the process as the team's offensive leader.
Following two years at Southwestern Oregon, Reed's playing career continued at the University of Georgia before five professional European seasons in Austria, Holland and Finland. Reed returned stateside to begin her coaching career as an assistant at Southern Indiana in 2009. Other assistant coach stops included Northeastern University, UAB and the University of Illinois before she was introduced as Alabama volleyball's head coach in December of 2021.
