The Crimson Tide improves to 3-1 on the year
STARKVILLE, Miss. – The Alabama volleyball team closed out the 2026 Allstate Big 10/SEC Challenge Week with a 3-1 win over Iowa on Friday afternoon. With the result, the Crimson Tide finished the Challenge with a 1-1 record and improved to 3-1 overall on the season.
Alabama opened the match with a 25-22 win in set one before dropping set two, 25-21, to even the match at 1-1. The Tide responded by claiming the final two sets, winning 25-20 and 25-18.
Hannah Parant and Kaleigh Palmer each recorded double-doubles to lead Alabama while Laney Hennessee tied a career high with 13 kills. As a team, the Tide recorded a season-best 63 kills, led by the trio of Palmer (14), Hennessee and Lily Gervase (12) who combined for 39 total kills en route to the victory.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Hannah Parant recorded 45 assists and 11 digs while Kaleigh Palmer had 14 kills and 10 digs to earn double-doubles on the day
- As a team, the Crimson Tide posted a season-high 63 kills with a .360 hitting percentage
- Lily Gervase had 12 kills on 16 total attacks for a .688 attack percentage to lead UA
- Danii Fraga added 10 digs, while Mya Allen had nine kills
