Baseball Opens SEC Home Slate with Florida
Our baseball team returns to Tuscaloosa this weekend for its first SEC home series when we take on No. 18 Florida Friday - Sunday. Tickets are still available but going fast. Don't forget that Right Field Terrace is also open to the public for all three games with it being Spring Break. We are expecting beautiful weather for some baseball, so we hope to see you at The Joe!
Softball Continues Winning Ways
Head Coach Patrick Murphy and his squad have started the 2026 season by winning 27 of their first 28 games following a 4-1 victory over ULM on Tuesday. The 27-1 record, including starting the year by winning 25 consecutive games, is the second-best start in program history since the 2019 team began 31-0. Pretty darn impressive! Our ladies will continue SEC play this weekend when they travel to take on Missouri. Following those games, the team returns to Tuscaloosa for an eight-game homestand beginning with Jacksonville State next Wednesday, March 25, at 3:30 p.m. CT.
Rowing Heads to Ohio State
Our rowing team will participate in its second regatta of the spring next weekend as it heads to Columbus, Ohio to take on Ohio State on Saturday, March. 28. First year head coach Kumari Lewis is coming off her first regatta as she guided our squad to eight first place finishes with a strong showing at the Cardinal Invite.
Men's and Women's Golf Teams Back in Action
Both our men's and women's golf teams will return to the links this weekend. Head Coach Jay Seawell and his team will travel to Eatonton, Ga., to compete at the Linger Longer Invitational, which tees off Friday morning. Our men welcome No. 20 Florida to town tomorrow, with the match set for a 1 p.m. CT start, and will wrap up the weekend at No. 17 Oklahoma at noon CT.
Outdoor Season On Tap Next for Track and Field
After closing out the indoor season on a high note at last week's NCAA Championships, our men's and women's teams turn their sights on the 2026 outdoor season, which will begin at the Raleigh Relays on March 26-28 in Raleigh, N.C. Head Coach Dan Waters said he was proud of the way his athletes competed on the national stage and is hoping both teams will carry the momentum from NCAAs. Samuel Ogazi captured the 400m national title on the final day of the championships to lead the men, while Doris Lemngole highlighted the women with a runner up finish in the 5,000m.
University Spotlight
Now this is a really cool story! Thanks to a collaboration between Central Alabama Veterans Collaborative and Culverhouse LIFT, University of Alabama students are helping our veterans learn digital technology. They are teaching our veterans to navigate the challenges of digital technology, whether accessing VA digital records, pairing a phone with a new car, or a variety of everyday tasks that you and I may take for granted. What a great way to connect with our veterans and help them for all they have done for us.
#RollTideFriday
Our #RollTideFriday photo this week was sent to me from Ron Smithson, who was donning his Alabama Script A at the top of Angels Landing at Zion National Park. What beautiful scenery with just the perfect amount of Crimson and White.Â

Remember if you want to submit a photo, use the hashtag #RollTideFriday in your social posts and tweet your photos to me at @Greg_Byrne. Keep those photos coming!Â
