Andrii Zimnokh and Matic Kriznik recorded singles points to highlight the Crimson Tide in the effort
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama men's tennis team (9-12, 3-7 SEC) dropped a 5-2 decision to No. 16 South Carolina (12-5, 5-4 SEC) on Friday.
Andrii Zimnokh and Matic Kriznik tallied points for the Tide in the effort, taking singles wins on courts three and two, respectively.

"South Carolina did a better job executing their opportunities tonight. We had some good moments across all courts. Matic and Andrii stayed committed to their plans from start to finish - impressive performances.
"We're improving with each match and this process requires taking some punches. I'm confident our guys will respond well and be ready to both give and take blows on Sunday."
Match Notes
- Alabama won five games on both courts one and two, but would be unable to overcome the Gamecocks in doubles action, who took wins at three and two, respectively
- Zimnokh recorded a straight-set victory to notch a point for the Tide on court three
- After dropping the first set, Matic Kriznik only lost one game over the next two sets to claim a victory on court two, his seventh win this season at the No. 2 spot
- The win was the third consecutive for Kriznik, who is now 7-2 in his last 10 matches
