TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Leaving your comfort zone can be difficult. Leaving your country is even harder. Over the past four years Coach Todd Bramble has recruited three Dutch soccer players to come to Tuscaloosa, in order to play for The University of Alabama.
Seniors Pia Rijsdijk, Merel van Dongen and Maruschka Waldus have all been key contributors to the Alabama soccer team. This season, the three players have produced eight goals and 13 assists for a combined 46 games.
"The Dutch Connection" is the second installment in a series titled: "Alabama Soccer: Inside the Program."
