Alabama’s Steere Named to SEC Community Service Team

Steere has volunteered with Reading Allies, local animal shelters and Halloween Extravaganza, in addition to visiting breast cancer patients
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. –– Alabama's Brooke Steere was named to the Southeastern Conference Women's Soccer Community Service Team, the league office announced Wednesday.
Steere has served as a leader for the Tide both on and off the field. The redshirt junior has volunteered with several organizations over her four years including working with both young children and animals.

- Visited breast cancer patients at DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa, where she listened to stories and talked with patients
- Prior to the season, she volunteered with Reading Allies twice a week, helping young, below grade-level readers meet reading standards
- Helped at the local animal shelter, providing a much-needed break and companionship to the animals
- Assisted with Halloween Extravaganza, an event that brings the Tuscaloosa community together with the Alabama Athletics Department through fun and games
