
Alabama Dominates in Sweep Over Alcorn State

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Alabama volleyball swept Alcorn State at Foster Auditorium Wednesday evening, 3-0, to stay unbeaten at home this season.
Alabama (6-1) came out of the gates swinging and dominated the first set, 25-11. Things were more back-and-forth in set two as the Braves (0-10) settled in, but the Crimson Tide managed to weather the storm and take the second set, 25-19. Alabama completed the sweep with a 25-18 score in the final set.Â
Laney Hennessee led the way with 15 kills on the night, hitting an impressive .480. She added three aces at the service line for the second straight match. Alabama allowed just 19 kills and held Alcorn State to a .014 hitting percentage, helping securing the victory.

"Right now, I'm just taking one game at a time. So we have two other games before the SEC and so my focus is on that. Ultimately, we want to continue learning lessons from those two matches so that we're prepared for SEC play."
