Alabama Sweeps Southern to Close Out Crimson Classic

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Alabama volleyball ended the Crimson Classic on a positive note, sweeping Southern in straight sets, 3-0, at Foster Auditorium on Saturday.
The Crimson Tide improved to 8-1 heading into conference play as Southern fell to 2-9.
Kaleigh Palmer got things rolling for the Tide to start the match, accounting for seven total kills in the first set, which Alabama won 25-16. The Crimson Tide dominated the match there on out, taking sets two and three by a score of 25-11.
Palmer ended the day with a .500 hitting percentage as she totaled 12 kills, and Laney Hennessee had the second most kills on the team with seven. The Crimson Tide put together a stellar performance defensively, recording eight blocks and forcing the Jaguars into 22 attack errors.

"I thought this weekend was a great weekend of preparation for conference play. I felt like each match we executed at a high level and there was a lot of positivity. I think the ladies are excited and prepared for SEC play. You never really know because it's the gauntlet, but ultimately you want to make sure your team is in the best headspace and confident to go into playing some of the best players in the country."
