"It was another night that it was important that we didn't give up a goal," Alabama head coach Todd Bramble said. "We continue defensively to be in every game. There were some big momentum swings and I thought we managed those periods well but just didn't sustain ours as long as we would like."
The shutout is the fifth in a row for Alabama, which ties the most consecutive clean sheets since 2008. Tide goalkeeper Justine Bernier continued her stellar play by earning her fourth straight shutout on the strength of seven saves and improved her scoreless streak to 481 minutes.
Alabama continues to improve under the direction of Bramble as the Tide earned its first point at the LSU Soccer Complex since 2004.
Alabama was out-shot by the Tigers 16-7, with senior Rosaly Petriello leading the way with three tallies. Addie Eggleston and Carlie Banks led all players with four shots apiece. Tiger goalkeeper Megan Kinneman also played the full 110 minutes and recorded four saves.
Alabama will cap off its weekend on the road with a Sunday matinee match at Arkansas. The two teams will meet on Sunday, Oct. 3, at 1 p.m., at Razorback Field. Alabama will then return home and play in front of the TV cameras as it will host Florida on Friday, Oct. 8, with the broadcast set to air on Fox Sports South.
